Depth is the option through which users can refine their search by specifying how many results you want our tool to retrieve for each combination of one keyword and one search query.
You will have the option to set up the depth of your search in the 3rd step of the process.
All the way down, you will see the Depth (results per query) option where you can opt for the depth of 10, 20, 30, 40… all the way up to 100.
Example:
For instance, setting the search depth to 40 means that you’ll be getting the top 40 results for each of the individual queries created by combining each row you’ve provided in the first step, with each of the search parameters from the second step. Just like with Google search, some queries will stop returning sites of sufficient quality or relevance once you go over a certain depth.
Depending on how much time you have for filtering, how many results you need to find, and what the minimal requirements are in order for these pages to qualify as prospects, you have 2 general options:
-
To raise the search depth, increasing the number of returned results and broadening your search
-
To lower it, and quickly find only on the best, most relevant prospects.
What is the Recommended Search Depth?
The default search depth is 30, and we generally suggest you don’t go over 50 (unless there’s a valid reason for it, of course). If you do, it will be harder for you to separate relevant search results from the ones that won’t be of much use to you.
