Dibz and Pitchbox Comparison

Dibz and Pitchbox Comparison

Questions from our existing and potential users made it obvious we need to make a clear distinction between Dibz and a popular outreach management solution, Pitchbox.

As is the case with this tool, or with other similar ones like BuzzStream or Ninja Outreach, the main difference between them and Dibz is that we are focused on helping our users find and evaluate as many linking opportunities as possible, while they only offer rudimentary prospecting capabilities and instead pay more attention to contact management and outreach.

With that in mind, Dibz is not meant to replace any of these tools, but instead to ensure that you will be able to find enough potential contacts to get to worry about how you are going to outreach all of them - through Pitchbox potentially, if you don’t already have another favorite outreach platform.

So, just in terms of prospect gathering and evaluation, here’s where Dibz might be more efficient than Pitchbox.

Since Dibz is fully focused on prospecting, we had the luxury of giving our advanced users all the options they might need, while also providing those who don’t know as much about how advanced operators work with a quick and easy way to find different types of link building opportunities. All this in just a couple of clicks.

So, on the one hand, we have a custom search option where you can create complex, extremely precise searches that will return the exact websites you need; but on the other, we also have a wide range of different research type templates to which you can simply add your keywords to in order to get a range of blogs accepting guest post, local business directories, Twitter influencers, review or giveaway websites, resource & links pages etc.

While Pitchbox also offers a custom search option, where you can create your own search, you are given far less options than you are in Dibz. If you, however, prefer the quick search option, they only have blogger outreach and 48-hour blog search templates, meaning that if you are interested in any other type of prospects, you’ll need to do all the legwork yourself.

When creating a search in Pitchbox, you are given a very limited number of criteria that you can set up in advance - country, search depth - i.e. number of results per query, quality range of the results to be returned (based solely on Moz metrics, unless you also have accounts with Ahrefs, Majestic or SEMrush which you can connect through an API integration) and whether or not you want to de-duplicate the list.

While Dibz also gives you the Search Depth, TLD selection, Ahrefs integration options, and automatically de-duplicates the domains; it also allows you to specify the language for your search and set the date range of results you want returned. Both Dibz and Pitchbox can be instructed to return the contact emails for the prospects found.

Filtering

Dibz doesn't just allow you to compose a more accurate query, which will return exactly the results you need, but it is also much more versatile when it comes to how you can filter those prospects, once they are found.

For instance, we also allow you to connect your Ahrefs account, but if you don’t have one, you can request their DR, top anchors and referring pages data to be returned with our results for just 0.4 or 0.8 credits per 100 prospects, depending on what you need.

Both Dibz and Pitchbox also offer social metrics with prospects, but that is where the similarities stop. While post-search filtering in Pitchbox comes down to removing prospects based on the metrics already displayed (like social data for example), Dibz features a fully customizable SPAM filter which relies on 17 different spam factors that you can mark as more or less important to you.

You don’t want websites with too many external links in the main navigation? No problem, Dibz will allow you to specify how many is too many, and how severely should the sites crossing the limit be downgraded in the list of your prospects. Do this for 16 other factors, and you get our SPAM score metric, which is just one of the quality markers that you get with your prospects.

The bottom line

If you are having more trouble with contacting your prospects than finding them, Pitchbox is probably what you are looking for. However, if you find that you are spending too much time on finding and classifying prospects, and that there is simply never enough of them, Dibz is the tool for you. Of course, combining the two tools gives you all these benefits, and is the option we would recommend in the majority of cases.
